Explore The Native American Roots of Phoenix

by: Charlene | Fun Date, Family Friendly Date, Under 21 Date

Spend an afternoon exploring the rich culture of the Native Americans who lived in the Phoenix area long before we arrived.

Start your afternoon at the Heard Museum, where you can explore the rich arts and culture of the Native American culture. Don't miss the katsina exhibit or the gift shop.

Next, take in some Native crafts and music at Drumbeat Indian Arts, adjacent to Canyon Records, a Grammy winning producer of Native music. You might be tempted to buy music, wool blankets, porcupine spines, or handcrafted items available in this diverse shop.

End you day with the traditional Native treat, fry bread, or other Native food items at the Fry Bread House.
